Maintains Ozone Levels Below 5 ppb
Daytime ozone levels found in many laboratories can destroy Cy5 and other fluorescent dyes used with microarray samples. Studies show that ozone levels as low as 20 ppb can negatively affect array data.(1) The NoZone® WS Workspace was developed to eliminate nagging concerns of ozone corrupted array data caused by degradation of dyes during array washing and drying.
The NoZone® WS Workpace [Cat. #1090-13-1] consists of a benchtop polycarbonate enclosure with an external high efficiency ozone filtration system. The Workspace achieves and maintains ozone levels below 5 ppb within a few minutes after closing the door. Flexible ducting directs ozone-free air from the scrubber into the enclosure under positive pressure pushing the ozone containing air out through a side vent.

Ozone-Safe Manual Processing of Microarrays
The NoZone® WS Workspace provides an ozone-safe, low light work area for processing microarrays and operating small equipment. The bottom portion of the enclosure door has a curtain through which the operator can reach in and perform manual set up and washing of slides using the Hybex® Microarray Incubation System (Cat. #1057-36-1) with waterbath insert (Cat.#1057-35-0). The NoZone® WS Workspace also provides space for a small centrifuge or laser scanner such as the GenePix 4000A/B.
Ozone-Safe Automated Processing of Microarrays
The Little Dipper® Processor is designed to operate inside the NoZone® WS Workspace for automated post-hybridization washing and drying of microarrays. After adding buffers to the Little Dipper® baths and loading the slide rack, the enclosure door is closed and the wash protocol started using an external touchscreen. Slides are efficiently and reproducibly washed and dried and remain protected from ozone and light inside the integrated centrifuge until ready for scanning. |

Assembles Easily as a Benchtop Unit
The NoZone® WS Workspace is provided as a set of pre-assembled aluminum framed, gasketed polycarbonate panels that fasten together to form an enclosed work area. After assembly of the enclosure, a high efficiency ozone scrubber is connected to the top of the unit using flexible ducting. The front door panel features a hand accessible curtain for working inside the enclosure and can also swing up and out of the way to allow unimpeded access to the work area for moving and setting up equipment.
Tested with EPA-Approved Ozone Analyzer
Each NoZone® WS Workspace features a highly efficient ozone filtration system that is tested and certified at the factory to reliably maintain ozone levels below 5 ppb. Test results, using a highly sensitive and accurate ozone monitor, are included with the system.
Compatible with Popular Equipment
The NoZone WS Workpace can accommodate any of the following equpment inside the enclosure:
If your equipment is not listed above, please have your dimensions ready and call (408) 733-7337, option 4 to determine which NoZone Workspace provides the best fit.
