Series 700 Microarray Oven

The Model 777: A Single Oven for Affymetrix and Agilent Arrays

The Model 777 Oven incorporates a high speed rotation system for performing Affymetrix hybridization protocols. The Model 777 Oven uses specially designed rotators that hold 48 GeneChips [Cat.# 1077-10-0] or 96 GeneChips [Cat.# 1077-30-0] up to 80 RPM. The oven can also be operated at lower rotational speeds for Agilent and other microarray chambers that use bubble-mixing. The flexible design eliminates the need to purchase a special oven or waterbath for different types of microarrays thus reducing operating cost and freeing up valuable bench space.

The Model 777 is an integral part of the Mai Tai™ Hybridization System [Cat. #1075-00-1 (115V); Cat. #1075-00-2 (230V)] which uses Mai Tai Cassettes (Cat. #1075-10-0) to hybridize four Agilent microarray slides at once. The Mai Tai Rotator (Cat. #1075-20-0) can hold up to eight Mai Tai Cassettes or 32 slides inside the oven.

The Model 700: For Other Microarray Chambers

The Model 700 Oven [Cat.# 1070-00-1] rotates up to 20 RPM using a traditional, lower-speed rotation system. The Model 700 Oven can accommodate both Agilent original “Legacy” and SureHyb hybridization chambers in a specially designed rotator [Cat. #1070-20-0]. The Model 700 Oven can also be used with a variety of other rotators and accessories from SciGene.

Easy Calibration with a Digital Thermometer

To ensure accurate oven temperatures, the performance of the controller can be periodically checked. To perform a calibration, a NIST certified digital thermometer (Cat. #1051-52-0) is connected to a jack on the oven. Complete calibration instructions are available.

For Bubble Mixing of Target/Probe Solutions

Series 700 Microarray Ovens provide heating and bubble-mixing of target/probe solutions within microarray hybridization chambers including those supplied by Affymetrix and Agilent.

The Model 777 Microarray Oven [Cat.# 1077-00-1 (115V); Cat.# 1077-00-2 (230V)] provides rotational mixing to 80 RPM for Affymetrix GeneChips, and lower speed rotation for Agilent and other microarray chambers that use bubble-mixing.

The Model 700 Microarray Oven [Cat.# 1070-00-1 (115V); Cat.# 1070-00-2 (230V)] provides rotation to 20 RPM and is used with Agilent SureHyb and other microarray chamber formats.

Ovens Designed for Microarrays

Series 700 Ovens are used with removable rotators designed by SciGene for use with specific hybridization chambers. Series 700 Ovens have a solid door to prevent light, that can quench sensitive fluorescent dyes used in microarray hybridization procedures, from entering the chamber.

Temperatures within the stainless steel chamber are regulated to 99°C with a precision of ± 0.1°C from set point using a simple to operate controller. An optional handheld digital thermometer (Cat. #1051-52-0) is available for calibration and for independent verification of chamber temperature.
