SciGene Introduces the Hybex® Microarray Incubation System

Streamlines Microarray Sample Preparation and Array Processing

Hybex Microarray Incubation SystemFebruary 2, 2005, Sunnyvale, CA — SciGene announced today at the annual meeting of the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF) in Savannah, Georgia the introduction of the Hybex Microarray Incubation System. Developed in conjunction with several San Francisco bay area microarray laboratories, this new system streamlines and simplifies work with spotted microarrays. The Hybex System consists of a small benchtop heating unit with removable modules for performing sample preparation, hybridization and array processing. The system when fully configured can process batches of up to 16 microarrays. Complete systems are priced under $2000.

According to James Stanchfield, Ph.D., President and Founder of SciGene, “The tedious, multi-step process used with microarrays acts as a magnet for mistakes and for introduction of subtle protocol variations between operators. The Hybex System is the first in a series of systems to be introduced by SciGene in 2005 designed to reduce the batch-to-batch and operator-to-operator variability in microarray results.”
